Established in January 2006, the Undergraduate Research Office helps students pursue research opportunities at The Ohio State University, a top public research institution. Research can be conducted independently, as part of a team, in collaboration with faculty, here at the university or elsewhere. The URO staff also serves as a resource for advisors, technical staff, postdoctoral fellows, faculty and others who are part of the rich research environment at Ohio State.

The Office maintains this website including information about getting started with research, how to find research opportunities, what's involved in presenting your work, and a variety of other information sources for undergraduates interested in making research a part of their college experience. The URO is assisted by two committees: A Faculty Advisory Committee, and a Student Advisory Committee.

We highly recommend that students begin to explore undergraduate research opportunities early in their academic careers. This website and our office are here to help in the journey!
