Why do research away from Ohio State?

As a major research institution and one of the largest universities in the nation, Ohio State has many excellent opportunities for its undergraduate researchers. Many students, however, expand their search for research opportunities to include programs in other cities, states, and even countries. These programs are often housed at prestigious academic and governmental institutions, and often have generous funding packages.

The US federal government allocates research funds through its consituent departments and institutions. A portion of these funds goes to support the research training of undergraduate students, and many of the best research opportunities are sponsored by federal funds. For a listing of research opportunities directly sponsored by federal institutions, please visit our Government Research page.

For a listing of research opportunities outside of the United States, see our International Research Opportunities page.

Other useful listings and searches

These websites also offer listings and search functions for undergraduate research opportunities, including opportunities not noted on our website.
